"Another of the nation's hottest horse racing trainers has been accused of giving his horse an illegal "milkshake" cocktail at Santa Anita, further spotlighting an alleged cheating issue that's plagued the track's leaderboard.
This time, trainer Adam Kitchingman was notified yesterday of having a horse test above the milkshake threshold – 37 millimoles of total carbon dioxide per liter of blood plasma.
A milkshake cocktail – which is illegal – usually contains alkalizing agents, such as baking soda, plus sugar and other substances."
