"O'Connor is best known for her haunting voice, eclectic spiritual views and public actions such as shredding a picture of the pope on live TV, as well as her version of the Prince song "Nothing Compares 2 U." Two years ago, O'Connor announced she was retiring to raise her three children. She also disclosed that she was battling a debilitating and painful fatigue illness called fibromyalgia. The magazine Hotpress quoted her as saying she will perform on stage in the next few months at a special appearance in Belfast. O'Connor reportedly said she was already working on material for three different records."

"HI. I'm new. I posted a comment once but never really introduced myself. I'm Amanda and I'm 23 years old. I was diagnosed with fibro about 4 years ago. I went off my moms inssurace 2 days later. So I never went back to a doctor until about a year ago. He knows practically nothing about fibro. I kept going back and going back. Firts he put me on zoloft. I also have 'moderate to severe depression'. Zoloft did no good. I went to a couselor a couple times but she was no help either. I had real issues I needed to work out and all she cared about was that I didnt finish school and didnt have a job. And she said my fiance was my biggest problem. SO not true. So i stopped seeing her. I fainlly got my doctor to give me something for pain a couple months ago. Naproxin. Like that was going to help. Last month he FINALLY refered me to someone. A pain specialist here in town. It cost me almost $400 just to go and talk to him for 15 minutes. Then the medicine he gave me was around $170. I dont know how they just assumed I could pay for all of that. I was paying $10 to see my normal doctor who didnt know anything. So, I managed somehow to come up with the money, with alot of help. I just stopped taking the medecine a couple of days ago. Today was the first day in the last week that I didnt wake up with a killer headache that lasted the hole day nomatter what I did. I feel worse now that when I started taking them. And now I cant sleep at all. I barely slept befor but now its worse. I think I got addicted to the sleeping pills. But they made me freak out. So I stopped taking them to. I have a million questions. And I could keep typing all night, but I wont. One question for now is, how can I find a doctor who knows what hes talking about and wont act like my pain is no big deal? The specialist seems to be smart, but I ant afford $400 every visit. I make payments of $70 a month. But if I go every month like he wants, it adds up real fast. And has anyone found anything to releave pain at all? Massage, hot baths... anything. Any suggestions would be really helpful and greatly appreciated. And thank you all for taking the time to real this. It was all alot longer than I intended."

hello, hello! my name is christie and i was diagnosed with idiopathethic thrombocytopenia purpura when i was 7 years old. when i was nine years old, i had a splenectomy and the ITP went away. unfortuantely for me, 4 months later, i got extremely sick and a weird rash appeared all over my body, but especially in the face. lucky me, it was the classic "butterfly rash." a skin biopsy was done and i was officially diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus. throughout the years, i've been diagnosed with a great many other disorders that are commonly linked to SLE, including fibromyalgia and raynaud's syndrome.

today i am almost 21 years old and i'm in school for medical assisting in wethersfield, connecticut. in about another year i want to go back to school and get my bachelor's in nursing. growing up in the hospital had a lot to do with my decision to get into a medical career.

obviously, i'm a newbie... this was my "about me" paragraph."

"Went to the pharmacy on thursday, they said I could only get 31 pills of Cybaltam. My prescrip is for 60. So I called insurence. They said all will be fine, go back on friday. I just needed to wait until 30 days from my last fill. Ok, I go in friday, and same thing 31. Called again, same answer, maybe you need to wait 31 days.

Today I go in and 31, called insurance, loosing patience, I can only get 31 each month. Why what, look I took the best insurance plan this year. Better than last year, what is this, 31 pills. Sorry but it is not a preferred drug and it is limited.

Now I am really still being nice, the pharmasist and I talked. She said call the Dr and have my prescription changed to a different drug, older or generic. So now I wait, cause it is the weekend, and my Dr is closed monday for the holiday too. So now I am home wondering what insurence is for are they trying to be our Doctor too, be telling us what we can and can't take?

I needed to vent....Thanks Trish.....PS my roomie went and got the 31 pills for $50 so I have something till I can get changed.
