Guaifenesin
From: www.livejournal.com
"My doctor prescribed guaifenesin the other day. I haven't started yet as the pharmacy have to make them up, and with easter, can't pick them up until next Wednesday.
However, I was wondering how many of you have tried this and whether you had any success etc?
Considering the idea of it is to make you worse before better, I'm a little concerned. Any feedback would be great."
Update on FMS Pain Management Program
From: www.livejournal.com
"My insurance company has approved my treatment at the FMS Pain Management Center that I posted about last week. However, there are limitations to that approval, specifically in the alternative medicine options. Not all are covered, i.e. acupuncture and anything that remotely sounds New Age. The good news is that Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy (which includes trigger point release/massage)psychological and pain management are all covered 100%.
My initial evaluation should be scheduled in about a month. I'm in the process of securing all my medical records from the multitude of doctors who have treated me (and in some instances, have ridiculed my FMS) in the past 2 years.
I'm very encouraged about this program. The Nurse/Intake Coordinator seems up-to-date on all the new studies and medications used to treat FMS. The evaluations will be done from a team approach and a case plan will be developed to meet my needs.
I will update with news as I receive it."
